The legend of the village of Țipala, based on the monograph “Țipala and its satellites”.
TThe commune of Țipala, located 35 km. from the capital of the Republic of Moldova, consists of three localities - Țipala, Bățăți, Budăi and has an estate of 4,186 ha of land, is located in a picturesque region of plains and small hills suitable for agricultural crops. It has 1,497 households with a population of 4,300 inhabitants.
The village of Tipala dates back to 1595, according to some archival documents. The locality is bisected by a small river.
The villagers on both banks are connected by four stone bridges and eight air bridges. The spring gushed into a grove of acacias, next to a few huts and a horse pen. . Because the stream teemed with eels, the so-called chișcari (long, elastic fish) called the flowing water ȚIPALA. Along the Tipala stream, on one side and the other, scattered clusters of houses had grown like mushrooms after the rain. The eels, in the years of famine, served as an inexhaustible food store for the population. The village, which grew up here between the picturesque hills, did not have a name for a long time. Only after a pack of Tatars set fire to this human nest, the natives called the village AFUMAȚI. For a long time the village had 2 toponyms: AFUMAȚI and ȚIPALA. The history of the village of Țipala is closely linked to the murmur and gurgling of this tireless stream. The commune's land is cooled by countless springs, springs and wells. It draws its sap and origin from it. Along with several silisti on the Botna, the silisti from Rezășeș, BALȚATȘI and BUDȚI, also took root. They have been reduced to ashes more than once, along with period documents. The villages of Țipala, Budai and Bălțăți, founded by the Moldavian voivodes, Mazil and Razeși, have been existing for centuries, going through wars, epidemics and natural disasters.
Today, the residents of Țipala, through their hard work and dedication, have sanctified these lands, making the name of the settlement known throughout the country. The village of Țipala has always been a community of farmers with resilient and hardworking people. They have consistently managed to address the challenges faced by the locality. In Țipala, people are constantly striving to bring change: they demolish old houses and build new ones, clean wells, open new shops, and put great love and passion into everything they do. On the national stage, Țipala takes pride in its scholars, teachers, artists, and athletes. The Local Council, composed of 13 members, and the mayor of the commune, Mr. Ilie Castraveț, elected for the third time, work in close harmony with the local institutions and population. The local administration is twinned with several counties in Romania, engaging in exchanges of experience.
